학교장이 말하는  MICS

이제 21세기가 벌써 20여년이나 지난 현 시점에서 할 수 있다면 우리아이들도 글로벌 시대에, 국제적 학교교육을 받아 국제무대에서 동등한 입장에서 실력을 겨룰 수 있도록 기회를 만들어주어야 할 때가 되었다. 그러나 지역적, 문화적, 그리고 경제적 현실은 이 일을 펼치기엔 그리 호의적이지 않았으며, 변화에 대한 막연한 두려움이 대부분의 사람들의 생각을 마비시키는 듯 보였다. 그러나 청교도들을 위해 스쿠안토를 준비시키신 하나님께서, 순교자들과 신앙의 거인들이 죽기까지 위하여 기도했던 이땅, 이 목포에, 아름다운 선물, 목포 국제 기독학교를 주셨다.

선한 목표를 향해 기꺼이 위험과 희생을 감수하기를 마다하지 않는 선구자적 자세로 이제 믿음으로 이 선물을 받아서 성경적 교육관을 실천에 옮기며, 문자 그대로 글로벌 시대를 살아 나갈 우리 자녀들이 하나님 사랑 하나님 경외의  의미를 바로 깨닫고, 그리스도안에서 철저히 인격을 쌓고 실력을 길러 준비된 일꾼이 되도록, 설립자 김상선 목사님의 희생적 리더십 아래 학부모, 교회 그리고 교사들이 함께 일치하여 목포 국제 기독학교를 개교하기에 이르렀다.

원하는 자는 누구나 와서 그리스도를 알고 하나님 경외하기를 배우고, 철저히 훈련 받는 교육의 터전이 되고저 한다

 

Welcome to Mokpo International Christian School, the very first international Christian School in Mokpo. Mokpo is a beautiful and blessed city. It has a very deep root in Christianity and is a home to many well known Christian leaders in Korea and worldwide. It’s not uncommon to hear many talk about ‘global village’ and express their desire to get ready for this rapid changing era. The reality, however, is much different from the desirable outcomes. Mokpo is not an exception. Political and cultural barriers as well as financial hardship are some of many reasons why most parents have been hesitant to even think about the alternative educational choices.  Now it’s time for we Mokporians to step up for our children that they can benefit from our act of faith and obedience in the Lord. Thanks to Rev. Sangsun Kim for his dedicated leadership and the extraordinary parents who were willing to risk great things by faith in order to train their children according to God’s way. Some of them have received much criticism even scorn from close friends, family members, or colleagues who were unable to see the vision and couldn’t share the same insights that our parents have. The MICS maiden voyage is well on its way with our chief captain, Jesus Christ. Now we would like to welcome you aboard.
